Great stay in the heart of old Ahmedabad

My first preference was to stay at the House of MG but due to the place being booked for a wedding, I was placed here. What I did not get in amenities from the House of MG was made up in the outstanding service provided by the staff at this old property. The property is managed by Mr. Ambalal and he was extremely helpful and available at all hours of the day to get me where I needed to get going. He even replied from home during his time off to make sure that I was able to get back to the hotel late at night. He made sure that there was no inconvenience encountered so he gets an "A" rating. The place is extremely clean with large rooms and allows you to see the grittiest part of town right from your balcony while being surrounded by comfort. The bathroom is large and clean. The place is an oasis in a colorful, busy and congested part of town. They arrange for transport in the morning to have your breakfast at the House of MG which is nice. I would recommend doing their complementary walking tour in the morning and evening if you want to learn more about the history of the place and efforts to beautify it. I would much rather stay here, than stay at any name brand hotel. You can walk to everything! I highly recommend it.

We stayed here overnight this week. It's a lovely little property nestled in Gangadhiya ni Pol with just 6 rooms. It was very neat and clean, a well kept property with extremely courteous staff in 24/7 attendance. They were very helpful and even took us to the next Pol to see Haveli #1. They served a very nice breakfast in the morning. The place has a very nice feel to it and is literally a stone's throw from the night Street food market in Manek Chowk. The photos show the external facade, room view (incl the glimpse of the wide balcony and swing), the view from the 2nd floor to the first floor garden and swings, and ground floor open air cafe

Not a patch on the House of M.G.

This Hotel owned by the House of M.G. has only 6 rooms and is located on a very narrow and busy street near Manek Chowk. The breakfast spread is limited and needs to be pre-ordered. I stayed at the House of M.G. before staying here and I could see a huge difference. The wifi never works and there is just 1 boy to take care of the entire Hotel. The rooms are smaller compared to House of M.G. but big enough for one person to stay. The Hotel is surrounded by dilapidated buildings on both sides, which seems as though they will crumble anytime soon :) I would rate this place 4/5 just for the minor inconveniences.

Haveli II is located in the lanes & by lanes of the old town Ahmedabad, about 3 kms distance from the original House Of MG. An old structure restored with old time look from outside . Modern ethnic styled room , very spacious & well appointed with excellent bathroom, wifi, mini bar & tea cattle . There is very limited food available although it is suggested to travel by free hotel transport to the the House of MG for breakfast /food. It’s in the middle of the congested old town, surrounded by dilapidated structures & narrow allies . Once inside the room with curtains down , it’s a nice experience in the room . Those who are fascinated by the old town charm, it’s an ideal location to explore the old town on foot . I do not recommend this place for business travel & also for not those who are not used to heat , dust & chaos of the old town . Will I return to this place ? Yes, I think I will sometimes to explore the neighbourhood on foot , it’s quite fascinating for me . The courteous staff is a plus , the unique location is an attraction for me.

Came for breakfast with friends, it was their first time visiting Ahmedabad so we thought a trip to the old city would be a good start to the holiday. The cafe had been recommended to us but sadly had very limited selection with most items on the menu unavailable. Service was slow and unhelpful. Much better service at the Green Room cafe at the House of MG.
